Lockdown Life

Lockdown Life

How have you been coping in this lock-down season?... One thing that God has really impressed on my heart is that regardless of this season that we find ourselves in, God wants us to stay 'plugged in'.

What do I mean by that?... we have an abundance of time to our disposal now, most of us are working from home so the environment may be more of a relaxed one, some of us have been furloughed so we are not actually allowed to work at all. One thing is for sure time is something we have more of during the day. So what are we doing with it?... Social media has literally gone bananas spewing out one new challenge after the next, it's a constant buzz of activity if you are into that sort of thing... there's always a new trend trending.

Netflix box-sets are in abundance and there is so much entertainment available at our fingertips. But in it all God has been telling me to 'Chill and Be Still'... for me it has been a period of withdrawal and growth, tapping into what God is saying and doing in this season.  It's been about staying close to God, real close. It's been about planting myself and being refreshed, renewed, it's about growing deeper roots in Him, I think of that scripture in Psalm 1 ..'that person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither -whatever they do shall prosper' ... Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that you shouldn't be on social media and you shouldn't watch Netflix, no no no! ... what I am saying is to think about how much time we are spending doing these things and are we spending enough time in Gods Word and in His presence?

Are we becoming spiritually stronger in this lock-down?... Are we growing our minds and expanding our knowledge?... Today let's be encouraged to dig a lil deeper in the Word and to align ourselves where God is... He has a plan for each and everyone of us... to prosper us and not to harm us, to give us a hope and a future...
Let us be even stronger when life resumes outside of lock down, let us be reminded to keep God First in all we do.
